James Garzia

James Garzia is a Vice President with the Seabury APG. Mr. Garzia joined the firm in December 2005, after spending the previous eight years in the aviation and government sectors, where he developed an expertise in route planning, forecasting, and analytical modeling.

Before coming to Seabury APG, Mr. Garzia held key management positions in the Route Planning and System Forecasts departments of US Airways. Mr. Garzia has extensive forecasting and planning experience and performed several key analyses that led to US Airways' post-bankruptcy network transformation plan. Additionally, Mr. Garzia has detailed experience in QSI modeling methodologies and market size creation, as well as an in-depth knowledge of pricing elasticity, and its impact on air service markets.

Mr. Garzia’s most notable work at US Airways was his major role in helping guide the company through its transformation into a low cost carrier and culminating the merger with America West. In both cases, Mr. Garzia's analytical efforts were integral to the implementing the carrier's overall strategy.

Prior to US Airways, Mr. Garzia was a research analyst at the United States Department of Justice – Antitrust Division where he performed numerous economic studies on: the effects of entry at hub airports, the impact to consumers in overlapping city-pairs, and the benefits of domestic alliances.

Mr. Garzia holds a M.A. in applied economics, from Binghamton University (SUNY). He received a B.A. in economics, cum laude, from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. Mr. Garzia has also completed advanced programming classes at the SAS institute in Rockville, MD.
